Fuzhou Internet of Things Open Lab (FIOT- LAB) was founded in Mawei in March 2017 by Chinese Academy of Sciences - Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Information Technology (SIMIT), Fuzhou Municipal Government, and Mawei District Government, with technological consulting support from Huawei. FIOT-LAB takes NB-IoT as the market entry opportunity and is aiming at Internet of Things (IoT) technologies represented by 5G. The open lab is commtted to become the leader of IoT industry standards, the forerunner of the pratical application scene simulation, and the provider of“one-stop” and “end-to-end”solution.
The FIOT-LAB is an important platform for accelerating the development of IoT industry and carries the two keys to the gate of the IoT industry.
Oriented by the demands of industry and customers, FIOT-LAB formulates and implements vertical IoT industry standards mainly in the field of smart city, smart transportation, industrial IoT, agricultural IoT, Smart buildings, smart environment protection, smart medical, smart home and other vertical applications, with the ambition of taking the lead in the technological innovation and standardization in the IoT industry.
By promoting the cooperation of production, education, research, and application, FIOT-LAB is to accelerate the professional and technical talents, to effectively promote the transformation from local IoT advanced technologies into production, to promote the transformation of traditional industries and their affiliated industries, as well as to promote tens of billions of growth of the IoT industry in Fujian Province, so as to construct a healthy and sustainable IoT ecosystem. In the next five years, FIOT-LAB aims to advance Fuzhou City into a nation-wide renown highland of the IoT industry, innovation and talents. and further into a world-wide renown IoT laboratory.
